Gal Gadot Shares Stunning Costa Rica Vacation Moments

Tires screech, and superhero stunts take a backseat to Gal Gadot’s latest travel adventure—no cape, no superpowers, just a passport and an appreciation for breathtaking scenery.

The Wonder Woman star and Fast & Furious alum traded red carpets for rainforests over the Christmas break, spending it immersed in Costa Rica’s stunning natural beauty with her family.

Gadot shared her experience with 108 million Instagram followers, posting photos capturing waterfalls, exotic toucans, and a jet ski ride—a glimpse into the laid-back adventure that defines Costa Rica.

Captioning her post with “My heart is full. Costa Rica, I love you,” she made it clear that the country left a lasting impression.

Gadot arrived on December 18 and spent New Year’s Eve in the country. According to sources, she was scheduled to spend time in La Fortuna de San Carlos, visit Costa Rica’s Pacific coast, and visit several national parks. Gadot was said to have been covertly appreciating the country’s landscapes and wildlife

For a long time, Costa Rica has been the most preferred destination for Hollywood celebrities looking for seclusion and natural luxury. High-profile celebrities like Tom Brady, Gisele Bündchen, Mel Gibson, and Zac Efron have opted for Costa Rica as a refuge from the limelight. Pristine beaches, lush forests, and world-class private villas in the country ensure an exclusivity-meets-adventure retreat.

Gadot was not the only celebrity spending the holidays in Costa Rica. R&B singer SZA also came for a visit, arriving on December 28 and leaving on January 4. She posted some great holiday stuff, such as taking a fish-catching tour and meeting a fan who handed her a letter she had written out by hand.

As Costa Rica continues attracting A-listers, luxury retreats like Villa Firenze remain preferred for those seeking privacy, security, and tailored experiences. The country’s blend of adventure, relaxation, and luxury hospitality keeps celebrities coming back—whether for a quick getaway or a celebrity-favorite second home

Hollywood may have red carpets, but Costa Rica offers something far more valuable—unspoiled nature, privacy, and the freedom to disconnect.

Why Travel Insurance is Now Essential for Costa Rica Trips

Costa Rica is the ultimate tropical escape, with its rainforests, volcanoes, and sun-soaked beaches drawing travelers worldwide. But even paradise has its stones to turn. Heavy rains, last-minute cancellations, and airline shake-ups can turn a dream trip into a logistical nightmare. That’s where Costa Rica travel insurance comes in, because no one wants to lose thousands over an unpredictable hiccup.

When the Weather Doesn’t Play Nice

The weather in Costa Rica is unpredictable. Landscapes are stunning but come with wild weather patterns. Anytime, heavy rains can trigger landslides, road closures, and flooding, leaving travelers stranded. Flights? Cancelled. Hotels? Non-refundable. Tours? Gone. Without Costa Rica travel insurance, visitors will be left shouldering the cost of rebooking or losing their investment altogether.

Airline Uncertainty is Real

Adding to the chaos, rumors of a major airline filing for bankruptcy have sent travelers into a frenzy. If an airline suddenly shuts down, passengers are left scrambling for last-minute flights or, worse, forced to cancel their entire trip.

Maria Gonzalez, spokesperson for the Costa Rican Tourism Board, says, “With travel being so unpredictable, insurance isn’t just an option—it’s a necessity.”

What Travel Insurance Covers (And Why You Need It)

More travelers are catching on, with insurance providers like Squaremouth reporting a surge in demand for Costa Rica-bound policies. According to John Smith from Squaremouth, “A small investment in travel insurance can save travelers thousands of dollars if something goes wrong.”

A solid policy has your back when:

  • Weather cancels your trip (hello, hurricane season).
  • You need emergency medical evacuation (Costa Rica’s jungle adventures can get rough).
  • An airline suddenly shuts down, leaving you stranded.
  • A natural disaster forces a trip interruption, saving you from losing your entire vacation fund.

Even Hotels and Tour Operators Are on Board

Costa Rica’s tourism industry has some of the strictest cancellation policies, meaning last-minute changes can be costly. Even local businesses see the value in insurance. Carlos Mendez, owner of a top eco-lodge near Arenal Volcano, says, “Guests feel secure, and we’re protected from last-minute cancellations. It’s a win-win.”

Bottom Line: Don’t Risk It

Tourism pros, travel experts, and local businesses agree—travel insurance isn’t optional. Whether it’s weather disruptions, airline issues, or medical emergencies, having the right coverage means you can focus on ziplining through the jungle and sipping coconut water on the beach—without worrying about unexpected surprises.

Get covered, travel smart, and enjoy Costa Rica stress-free.

American Airlines Launches Direct Flights from Philadelphia to Liberia Airport

Big news for travelers! American Airlines just made getting to Costa Rica even easier with a new direct flight from Philadelphia to Liberia Airport in Guanacaste. No longer long layovers or multi-stop itineraries—just hop on a plane and land in paradise.

This new weekly route, launched by Liberia Airport and the Costa Rican Tourism Board (ICT), is a first-of-its-kind connection between Philadelphia International Airport and Costa Rica—a faster, smoother way to swap city lights for beach sunsets.

Flying in on a Boeing 737, this route runs every Saturday until March 30, 2025. The inaugural flight touched down in Guanacaste at 1:00 p.m., bringing 100 passengers straight into Costa Rica’s laid-back lifestyle—exactly how travel should be.

More Than a Flight, It’s a Cultural Connection

Costa Rican Ambassador to the U.S. Catalina Crespo nailed it when she called this more than just a flight—it’s a bridge. On one side, American travelers get a direct line to Costa Rica’s stunning beaches, lush rainforests, and adventure-packed landscapes. On the other, Costa Ricans now have easier access to Philadelphia, a city packed with history, culture, and legendary cheesesteaks. Win-win.

Guanacaste’s Tourism Boom Keeps Growing

Tourism Minister William Rodríguez sees this as a game-changer for Costa Rica’s travel scene. Guanacaste is already a top-tier destination, and this direct flight boosts its connection to American Airlines’ major hubs, including Charlotte, Dallas-Fort Worth, New York, Miami, and Chicago—more seamless ways for travelers to get to Costa Rica’s golden shores.

And it’s not stopping here. This Philadelphia route is one of four new flight additions at Liberia Airport—which is on a mission to expand its global reach. Hosting 13 airlines and offering direct flights to 22 destinations across North America and Europe, this airport makes travel to Costa Rica difficult.

Costa Rica’s Tourism Is Thriving

Numbers don’t lie. Between January and October 2024, over 1.3 million U.S. travelers landed in Costa Rica by air. The U.S. has always been Costa Rica’s biggest tourism market, and this new route only strengthens that connection.

For American travelers, this means one less excuse to put off that Costa Rica getaway. And for Costa Rica? More visitors, more opportunities, and more reasons to celebrate this epic new flight connection.

Pura Vida just got a whole lot closer.

What’s New in Guanacaste Flight Routes for 2025

2025 is shaping up to be a game-changer for direct flights to Guanacaste, and the airlines are stepping up to meet demand. Nonstop routes are getting more frequent, and new ones are being added, especially to accommodate peak travel periods.

Just know these schedules can change depending on demand, so check in with the airlines before you hit book.

What Makes Costa Rica Special?

Costa Rica is not another travel destination—it’s a state of mind. A place where sloths take their time, volcanoes breathe in the distance, and adventure becomes a way of life. This little country packs everything—from cloud forests dripping with intrigue to beaches that could be from a dream sequence. Costa Rica delivers, whether you’re here for the biodiversity, the adrenaline rush, or to soak in the Pura Vida way of life.

Let’s explain why this little slice of Central America belongs to everyone’s bucket list.

1. A Biodiversity Wonderland

Costa Rica is nature’s VIP lounge—0.03% of the planet’s surface but 5% of the world’s biodiversity. It isn’t just teeming with wildlife; it’s bursting at the seams.

Sloths lounging in the trees like wise old yoga masters, Howler Monkeys giving their best heavy metal performances at dawn, Toucans stretching out their enormous, rainbow-colored beaks and don’t even start on the frogs, lizards, and insects that look as if they hopped out of a sci-fi film.

Want to see it all? Costa Rica has 28 national parks, several wildlife reserves, and protected areas where Mother Nature is the boss. Go to Corcovado National Park—dubbed by many as the most biologically intense destination on the planet—and get ready to be awed by nature’s excesses.

2. Volcanoes That Redefine ‘Scenic’

Costa Rica is nestled right in the middle of the Pacific Ring of Fire, so part of the package deal is having epic volcanoes. And they aren’t just tranquil hills—full-blown, lava-spewing, mist-shrouded monsters.

  • Arenal Volcano: The Costa Rican volcano drama queen. A once-erupting spectacle, it is now a hikers’ playground, hot spring soakers’ paradise, and nature enthusiasts’ delight.
  • Poás Volcano: Site of one of the biggest active craters in the world, churning with an uncanny, extraterrestrial loveliness.
  • Irazú Volcano: A trek up here literally puts you above the clouds. On a clear day, the horizon reaches the Caribbean and Pacific

They’re not just pretty views but living, breathing, geothermal giants. And yeah, relaxing in volcanic hot springs after a day of adventure is undoubtedly pure bliss.

3. More Ecosystems Than You Can Count

In a nation you can drive through in a day, Costa Rica packs in an absurd quantity of natural variety.

  • Monteverde Cloud Forest: Where the clouds never clear, and each step is like walking through a fantasy book.
  • Pacific Coast: Golden shores, dramatic cliffs, top-notch surf, and sunsets that will spoil all subsequent sunsets for you.
  • Caribbean Coast: White beach, blue sea, Afro-Caribbean spirit, and one of the chill beach towns on earth.

All of the environments here offer something entirely different—whether it’s finding tree frogs in the rainforest, diving with sea turtles in crystalline waters, or trekking on mist-shrouded mountains.

4. Sustainability is a Way of Life

Costa Rica is about enjoying nature and protecting it. Nearly 30% of the country is protected land, making it a global leader in eco-tourism

  • Stay in solar-powered eco-lodges tucked into the jungle.
  • Take guided wildlife tours that actually support conservation efforts.
  • Visit community-run initiatives where tourism helps local cultures thrive.

This isn’t a place faking green travel—it’s setting the standard for it.

5. Adventure Junkies, You’re Home

If you need an adrenaline fix, Costa Rica is the place to be. The whole country is one giant playground for adventure.

  • Zipline through cloud forest like Tarzan.
  • Raft Class IV rapids on the foaming Pacuare River.
  • Hike to secret waterfalls where you’ll have jungle pools to yourself.
  • Ride horseback through rolling hills, beaches, or volcanic terrain.

Costa Rica’s terrain is the ultimate adventure course—all natural, all thrilling, and all unforgettable.

6. The “Pura Vida” Philosophy

If Costa Rica ever had a slogan, it would be Pura Vida. That’s its slogan. It translates to “pure life,” but it’s an entire lifestyle.

It’s slowing down, seeing the beauty in the little things, and welcoming happiness. It’s what Ticos welcomes you with, ends messages with, and lives by. It’s why Costa Rica is ranked yearly as one of the planet’s happiest countries

And if you come here, you will feel it. The relaxed vibe is infectious, the smiles real, and the stress? Gone at customs.

7. A Culture Built Upon Deep History

Aside from beaches and jungles, the history of Costa Rica is also rich in indigenous and colonial heritage, which is worth discovering.

  • Go to Guayabo National Monument, a pre-Columbian city older than Machu Picchu.
  • Discover the Bribrí and Boruca villages, where you can witness indigenous culture and handicrafts.
  • Visit San José’s museums, where history unfolds through stories, art, and artifacts.

This isn’t a vacation destination—it’s a location with layers of history waiting to be unearthed.

8. A Country Getting It Right

Costa Rica is a fresh breath of air in a world full of surprises.

No military since 1948—because they decided to spend money on schools and hospitals instead.

One of the global front-runners when it comes to protecting the planet.

94% of energy is derived from renewable resources.

Political stability, environmental leadership, and an unshakeable dedication to peace—that’s a nation you’d want to travel to.

Are You Ready to Explore Costa Rica?

Costa Rica is all that a bucket-list experience should be—raw, exhilarating, tranquil, and teeming with memories that linger long after departure. Whether you’re seeking adventure, wildlife, or simply an escape from the insanity, you’ll find it here.

He said, “In 2o24, we managed to transfer the largest number of passengers in 105 years. It was a record-breaking success that resulted in the most extensive network in history. This time is different. We are excited to take a step in improving connectivity between Costa Rica and Miami. We will work with authorities and partners to ensure a successful and smooth new route.”

Excited? Well, this is indeed great news for many. Want to know what others have to say about this new launch? The reaction was somewhat similar, a mix of excitement and happiness.

The Minister of Tourism, William Rodríguez, talked about the launch of a direct route as an essential step in improving connectivity between Costa Rica and Miami. He added, “This route will strengthen the connection with the main travelers market. It feels great to start 2025 with stronger air connectivity that aligns with the vision and efforts of Costa Rica Tourism Institute (ICT).” One of the ICT officials also highlighted how the direct route for travelers from Miami has benefited travelers by giving them options to experience everything Costa Rica offers.

Avianca Launches Direct Flights Between San José and San Juan

For the first time in two decades, tourists can fly nonstop between Puerto Rico and Costa Rica, all thanks to Avianca Airlines. From March 31, 2025, the airline is introducing a new direct flight from Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan to Juan Santamaría International Airport in San José, reinstating a much-missed link between the two cities.

For years, travelers willing to travel between Costa Rica and Puerto Rico faced indirect layovers and flights, which wasted precious time and made things more complicated. This new service changes all this, providing an easy way for tourists and businesspeople to travel between Central America and the Caribbean. Travelers will operate three weekly flights on Mondays and Thursdays. The schedule is set up to offer flexible travel opportunities for those wanting to see relatives, experience a new city, or enhance business relationships between the two regions.

Tickets on the route are available now, with fares beginning at $100.85 one-way for customers flying with only a personal item. For customers carrying checked bags, fares will be in the range of $162.50. Though there may be different prices, this new direct service makes it possible to travel between these two places more affordably and conveniently than in years.

Regarding flight schedules, the San José to San Juan sector will take off at 7:30 AM and arrive in Puerto Rico at 12:40 PM local time. The flight from San Juan back to San José will take off at 2:10 PM and return to Costa Rica at 3:25 PM local time. These flight times are convenient for both business and pleasure travelers, ensuring a seamless, direct flight without unnecessary layovers or complex itineraries.

With this new route, Avianca is adding 4,500 new seats monthly to its growing network, making Costa Rica even more connected to the Caribbean. It’s not about convenience but bringing back a connection that had been absent for too long. This route is a game changer for tourists who have long dreamed of an easier travel route between these two hot spots.

One thing that tourists must remember is the entry requirements. Because Puerto Rico is a U.S. territory, tourists coming from Costa Rica will require a valid U.S. visa for entry. Always verify visa requirements and travel documents to prevent surprises before departure.

This release is part of Avianca’s overall initiative to grow its global presence. Indeed, it follows closely on the heels of the airline’s introduction of its new San José–Miami route on March 30, 2025. These new routes reflect Avianca’s ongoing commitment to simplifying travel for Costa Rican travelers, enhancing tourism prospects, and increasing business ties between major regions.

The good news is out for others who have long been waiting for a more straightforward route between Costa Rica and Puerto Rico. Whether off to San Juan’s lively streets or discovering Costa Rica’s natural beauty, this new Avianca route makes it easier, quicker, and more economical.

Why Costa Rica is a Top Choice for Relocation Amid Climate Change?

Climate change is redefining the way we think about where we live. Rising temperatures, extreme weather, and rising sea levels are creating uncertainty, so many are looking for refuge in places that promise safety, stability, and sustainability.

Costa Rica, with its unique blend of natural beauty, political stability, and environmental commitment, has become a leader in the choice of those trying to escape the impacts of climate change.

Here’s why this Central American gem is catching global attention as a relocation haven.

1. Climate Resilience – A Natural Sanctuary

Costa Rica is safe and out of the hurricane belt. The country’s geography and the Coriolis effect protect it against devastating hurricanes. Families and individuals in dire need of a stable environment find safety in this location as the world speedily shifts toward an accelerated meltdown due to climate change.

2. Unique Natural Beauty and Biodiversity

The breathtaking beauty of landscapes in Costa Rica and its unmatched biodiversity are more than pretty scenery; they are sources of comfort and inspiration. The pristine beaches and lush national parks, the towering volcanoes and rainforests, bring a connection to nature daily, and this relationship is nurturing well-being and mental peace in a world that otherwise feels very turbulent.

3. Political Stability – A Base for Security

Unlike many other unstable countries, Costa Rica has experienced peace for decades. Since 1948, it has not had a standing military, so it focuses most of its resources on health care, education, and infrastructure. This stability appeals to those who prioritize moving to a safe location to improve their quality of life.

4. A Global Leader in Renewable Energy

Costa Rica is committed to sustainability, which is a promise and a reality. The country generates nearly all its electricity from renewable sources, such as hydropower, wind, and solar. This enables its residents to live in harmony with the environment while reducing their carbon footprint.

5. Quality Healthcare and Education

Relocation is far beyond getting a house; it means security and fulfillment for a better life. Costa Rica is an excellent choice since it takes care of its residents through a proper healthcare system and accessible, good-quality education, so families and children will definitely get anything they need.

6. Hospitable Societies and Rich Culture

Costa Rica’s friendly communities and cultural heritage make it a welcoming place for newcomers. Combining indigenous and Spanish traditions creates a specific tapestry of experiences that will make expats feel at home.

Resonance Costa Rica presents a unique blend of environmentally sound living, high-quality infrastructure, and supportive communities for people looking to relocate. Strategically located on the Central Pacific Coast, it provides modern amenities emphasizing renewable energy and eco-friendly design.

As climate change reshapes our world, Costa Rica becomes a beacon of hope—a nation where stability and sustainability come together with nature in a beautiful way.

Costa Rica is top of the list for the safety and pride of individuals and families. Resonance Costa Rica takes on the challenge of offering the best relocation experience.
