Activities Around Costa Rica

Surfers flock to Puntarenas from around the world for the surf. Playa Hermosa, 6 miles from Villa Firenze, enjoys consistent swells and clean, pristine sands.

Surfers from all over the world head to Playa Hermosa for the massive rides that can reach up to 13 feet. It provides a great spot for experienced and professional surfers to ride some challenging waves.

For those not ready to hang ten on the bigger waves, surf lessons can be taken on more mellow waves of Jaco beach.

Take a fishing charter out of Los Sueños marina, known as one of the world’s best-known charter sport fishing marinas.

The Los Sueños peak offshore billfish season lands between January and April.  Sailfish, Blue Marlin, Black Marlin and Striped Marlin can be caught all year long.

Boats fishing Los Sueños can catch Yellowfin offshore all year round; the best time being between June/July and September. Dorado (Mahi-Mahi) are most plentiful between July and September.

One day of sports fishing out of Los Suenos Marina is included in a stay at Villa Firenze

Costa Rica is considered to have some of greatest biodiversity in the world. Macaws, monkeys, sloths & a multitude of exotic flora & fauna can be observed within Los Suenos.

Further afield, several national parks can be visited by car or helicopter tour for birdwatching, snorkeling, waterfalls, volcanoes and observing nature’s Costa Rican bounty.

Numerous short hiking trails can be found in the Los Sueños vicinity. Heading south, Manuel Antonio National Park, has a network of several hiking trails which exhibit Costa Rica’s biodiversity at its finest.
