Explore 38 Cafes Across Costa Rica with the Coffee Passport

Costa Rica boosted its lively coffee culture by launching the Coffee Passport initiative. The passport invites enthusiasts to visit 38 specialty coffee shops and projects nationwide. The concept has been designed to create an exciting and interactive experience and is valid until September 2025.

Users get a stamp in a personalized Coffee Passport every time they visit participating cafes, creating an experience similar to a real passport. Every visit earns discounts on espresso-based drinks, filter coffees, whole beans, and coffee brewing methods. Passport holders also enjoy specific activities, raffles, and events hosted by the cafes and Gente de Café, the organization behind this initiative.

The organizers said, “The Coffee Passport encourages people to discover new coffee shops, boosting local economies while fostering appreciation for high-quality Costa Rican coffee.”

The initiative benefits everyone in the coffee chain, from growers to tasters, and promotes knowledge sharing and community building among coffee lovers.

The Coffee Passport costs ₡6,500 and is available at any of the 38 participating locations. Information on the cafes is available through Gente de Café’s social media pages.

Whether you are a coffee lover or an enthusiast of the country’s rich coffee heritage, this rewarding coffee passport allows you to appreciate Costa Rica’s specialty coffee
